Sooriyapokuna Rajamaha Viharaya, Uswewa, Tangalle.
In 2010, Ven. W. Ratanasiri Thero acceded to the request for help by villagers in Sooriyapokuna to build a Vihara at an ancient temple site located at Uswewa, Tangella. A Development plan was drawn up and construction is being conducted in phases. Overseas well-wishers have made donations to fund phase 1 and 2 of the project. A Vihara cum monks’ residence was completed and officially opened in June 2011 while the building of a 100-ft Pagoda and the Dhamma Sala (Preaching Hall) are currently in progress.
There are several more phases in the construction of the temple project which have yet to be funded. We are looking for kind sponsors to complete the remaining phases of the project. Click here for more details.

Metta Youth Centre, Keliyapura, Hambantota
In 2010, Metta Social Services Foundation took over the management of Methmal Sevana, a children’s home in Keliyapura, Hambantota and re-named it Metta Youth Centre, Methmal Children’s Home, Keliyapura. The local and foreign NGOs running the home stepped down because they were unable to continue their funding support. The home and surrounding areas have fallen into a state of disrepair. To ensure that the children have a decent living environment, the home requires repair works and renovations. We hope kind sponsors can step up to help fund the necessary repair/renovation work.

Metta Kids World (Pre-School) - Hambantota
Whilst parents are aware of the importance of pre-school education, many cannot afford the usually high kindergarten fees levied. Metta Social Service Foundation understands the need for affordable and quality pre-school education. It has therefore opened Metta Kids World (Pre-School), Hambantota so that villagers’ children there can have access to inexpensive kindergarten classes. Metta Kids World vision is to provide reasonably priced pre-school education and ensure that the children are well prepared for admission to primary school. We hope kind donors can help us to equip the classes with required resource materials and educational aids to make the Metta Kids World the preferred choice for pre-school education.
